Diploma Translation
Diploma is an official document that confirms the completion of an educational institution and the qualification obtained. When applying for employment, having a diploma is often a decisive advantage for a candidate and, in many cases, a mandatory requirement for securing a desired position.
For a diploma issued by an educational institution in the Republic of Belarus to have legal validity abroad, it must be authenticated with an apostille. The apostille stamp verifies the authenticity of the signature and official seal of the authority that issued the diploma — typically the Ministry of Education or the educational institution itself — in accordance with the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
Additionally, translation of the diploma into the official language of the destination country is mandatory if that language differs from the language of the original document (usually Belarusian or Russian). The translation must be:
- Accurate and complete, preserving all details including the name of the institution, program of study, dates, grades (if applicable), and the conferred qualification.
- Performed by a certified or sworn translator, where required by the receiving country.
- Often notarized to confirm that the translation is a true and faithful copy of the original.
- In some cases, accompanied by the apostilled original to ensure full legal recognition.
✅ Recommended Process for International Use:
- Obtain the original diploma.
- Apply for an apostille from the authorized body in Belarus (e.g., Ministry of Justice or Ministry of Education).
- Have the diploma professionally translated into the target language.
- Notarize the translation if required by the foreign authority.
- Submit the apostilled original + certified translation to the relevant foreign institution (employer, university, immigration office, etc.).
Failure to properly authenticate or translate the diploma may result in rejection by foreign employers, academic institutions, or government agencies. Properly processed, the diploma becomes a legally recognized credential that opens doors to international career and educational opportunities.
